In 2022, a group of Toronto voters across the political spectrum--NDP, Liberal, Green and even a few Progressive Conservatives--banded together with the singular focus of uniting the vote to rid Ontario of Doug Ford.
That didn't work out the way we hoped. Despite the hard work of our incredibly talented volunteers, Ontario was let down by opposition party leaders who chose to attack each other instead of Doug Ford.
The result? An emboldened Ford with another majority, and a leadership change for two of the opposition parties.
But we're Toronto, and we don't let one loss stop us. (Hey, just look at the Leafs.) With rumours of a snap election in the air, we're back, and getting ready to work on unifying the vote.
Ford keeps taking the fight to Toronto, coming for Ontario Place, the Science Centre, our electoral districts, our ability to decide for ourselves where we need bike lanes and by the way, when's the Eglinton Crosstown going to open, Doug? Meanwhile, he starves funds from health care, education and the environment across the province. (Did we mention the corruption?)
No more. Toronto fights back.
Not One Seat's fearless founder, Tim Ellis, is now busy raising the next generation of young progressives, but the volunteer team is gathering, readying ourselves to take on this task with his support and well-wishes.
